Periodontal Therapy
Periodontal disease is an infection that destroys gum tissue.  It begins with the formation of plaque build-up on the teeth and eventually forms into tarter.  Tarter causes bacteria to form in between teeth and gums, eating away at the soft gum tissue.  This is considered a mild form of gum disease called gingivitis. Gums become red and inflamed and may even bleed.  If left untreated, gingivitis can lead to serious gum disease known as Periodontitis, which is the number one cause of tooth loss in late adulthood.  Studies show that more than 50 percent of American adults over the age of 30 experience some kind of periodontal disease.  That is why it is imperative to maintain routine check-ups and cleanings with Dr. Miller, to help minimize any further spread of gum disease.

To treat gum disease, we offer Laser therapy at our Cincinnatti, Ohio dental practice.  During the procedure, Dr. Miller will carefully remove the bacteria from between the teeth and gums, using a small amount of laser light energy.  The laser removes only damaged or diseased tissue and helps preserve and protect the surrounding healthy gum tissue and tooth enamel.

If you are concerned that you may have gum disease or are in the early stages of it, call to book an appointment with Dr. Miller today.  Or if you would like more information about our Laser Periodontal Therapy, we'll be more than happy to answer any of your questions or concerns.  Call us now.

Sealants
No matter how much you brush or floss your teeth on a regular basis, preventing tooth decay can still prove to be quite a difficult process.  Sealant treatments involve applying a thin layer of sealant to the surface of the teeth to safely protect them from plaque and decay.  Sealant treatments performed by a highly skilled dentist like Dr. Miller, can be nearly 100% successful at preventing cavities!

Root Canals
Contrary to popular belief, root canal therapy is generally a painless procedure.  The treatment is performed under local anesthetic and is aimed at alleviating tooth pain and discomfort.  When the pulp inside a tooth becomes infected and is not removed, it can lead to many problems like pain and swelling or even cause more extensive damage to your jaw bone.  If left untreated the infection can actually kill the tooth and the entire tooth will have to be extracted.  Root canal therapy can save your tooth before it's too late.  You can trust that our First Impressions Dentistry team will make your root canal treatment as comfortable and painless as can be.

Dental Bridges
Bridges offer a great solution to fill in the gaps of missing teeth.   They look just like your natural teeth and can help strengthen your overall bite.  Patients are able to chew and speak just like they use to, before they lost their tooth.  In fact, bridges fit so comfortably in your mouth that you won't even notice they are there. .

Dentures
Dentures are removable artificial teeth that are used to replace a number of missing teeth.  We can create full or partial dentures that Dr. Miller, will custom-craft to fit your mouth perfectly.  Dentures can help restore your smile back to its original function and beauty, helping you regain the confidence to smile again.

At First Impressions Dentistry, we're always on the cutting edge of new technologies.  In our office, we are proud to offer a permanent solution to replace missing teeth, cosmetic dental implants.  These metal titanium posts, act as artificial tooth roots and are surgically placed into the jawbone.  Dental implants provide a stronger support structure for dentures, while increasing performance and function.

Drill-less Cavity Fillings
We utilize the high efficiency Waterlase® laser system that allows many cavity preparations to be performed without the use of drills or needles.  This means less anesthesia is used and cavities can be filled in just one dental appointment, saving you time and money.  Not to mention, you'll feel comfortable and relaxed throughout the entire procedure.  This treatment is the perfect solution for patients who are apprehensive about the sounds and smells associated with the dental drill.  Patients can just sit back, relax and be comfortable throughout the entire procedure.

Full-Mouth Reconstruction
For patients who are experiencing complex dental problems involving a series of issues, a full-mouth reconstruction may be needed.  Full-mouth reconstruction deals with the entire mouth--teeth, bones, and tissue, as oppose to just a single tooth replacement.  After a careful assessment of your mouth, Dr. Miller will develop the perfect restorative dentistry plan for you, taking into account health, mobility, function, and aesthetics.  Depending on your specific needs, a combination of cosmetic dentistry procedures may be used like porcelain veneers and dental implants, to achieve a beautiful, healthy, and balanced smile.

Dental Crowns
When a tooth has significant wear, damage, and cracking, but still has a strong and stable root, a porcelain crown is a fantastic way to repair the damage and rebuild lost tooth structure, prevent further injury, and restore a beautiful, natural appearance. Each crown is specially designed to fit your tooth and blend seamlessly with those around it. We can even replace old metal-based crowns with newer, more natural-looking all porcelain ones.

Tooth Colored Fillings
In the old days, restorative dentistry procedures resulted in a mouthful of metal. Modern dentistry allows us to repair almost any tooth damage without the use of any metal. Made from durable composite resins, tooth-colored fillings provide all the functional aspects of traditional filings, yet look and feel just like the enamel of your natural teeth. Also, since the material used to make tooth-colored fillings bonds directly to the tooth, these restorations are very strong and long-lasting.

Dental Implants
We offer dental implants as a means of restoring both form and function to the mouths of patients who are missing teeth., Dental implants consist of two part: an anchor and a crown. The titanium anchor is surgically implanted in the jaw, providing a secure and permanent base for the realistic, custom-made dental crown. Unlike bridges, dental implants do not rely on adjacent teeth for support, and there is no need to grind down any healthy teeth to keep them in place. Because they fill not only the gap between teeth, but also the empty space in the jaw, dental implants help to prevent the bone loss that can often occur after teeth fall out.

Teeth Whitening
If yellowish or stained teeth make you feel self-conscious about your smile, you are not alone. Discoloration of the teeth is one of the most common cosmetic problems. Fortunately, it is also one of the easiest to treat. Teeth whitening treatments can easily and effectively remove stains form coffee, tea, tobacco, and other products, revealing a whiter, brighter smile. We can even treat tetracycline stains with an innovative "Deep Bleaching Technique".
We are proud to offer our patients several different types of teeth whitening systems including, Custom Tray Bleaching, In chair Laser Whitening (Instant shades differences) and professional strength whitening strips. We believe it is important to recognize that different patients have different types of discoloration, different expectations and different levels of sensitivity. It is important to realize that teeth whitening should always be performed under a dentist's care. Over-the counter products may cause irritation, uneven whitening, or damage to your teeth.

Porcelain Veneers
Are you troubled by chips, cracks, or stains on your teeth? Would you prefer to have straighter, more even teeth, but cannot stand the idea of going through a long orthodontic process? Porcelain veneers can correct a wide variety of common aesthetic problems and can be used alone or along with other cosmetic or restorative dentistry. If your teeth are discolored, shipped, or misaligned they can be transformed into a whiter, bright and beautifully designed smile with porcelain veneers.
Porcelain veneers are thin, custom-made shells that are bonded to your existing teeth, correcting imperfections and rebuilding strength and durability. They are custom made with premium porcelain that looks natural blends beautifully with the surrounding teeth, and is resistant to staining or discoloration.

Full-mouth Rejuvenation
It is not uncommon for our patients to have multiple dental problems. In most cases, different issues have developed at different times and have been addressed by several different dentists, resulting in an assortment of restorations that do not match in color or function together. In these cases we will address the entire mouth at the same time. We evaluate the unique needs of the patient and create a comprehensive plan that repairs damage and restores aesthetics and function to your smile. We are able to utilize a combination of cosmetic, restorative, and implant dentistry techniques to transform the smile into a work of art.
